Filings are used in Verne to satisfy legislative requirements which mandate the retention of all the historic activity related to an entity, and the details of an entity at the date of filing.

Verne shows the history of an entity on the register and provides a view of the entity at a particular point of time.

Each filing entry shows details of the change, with any differences between the new and the previous entity version highlighted, the filing also displays presenter details, i.e. user who initiated the change and the date/time of the change.

Filings are stored and displayed in the Filings tab of each entity. Registered filings will be typically shown publicly for all approved submissions in the list of Completed filings of an entity. Submissions associated with in-progress and unsuccessful applications will not be visible to the public as completed filings and will be available for internal users and externals users who have access to the entity private data via the list of All filings. This full list also contains upcoming filings associated with compliance processes (see Compliance for more details).

Verne business services are typically configured to generate one or more filings to represent the associated business activity. However service does not necessarily need to generate a filing. Filing settings are configured per business service as a part of business service configuration (see section S02 Filing settings). When viewing filings from the All filings sub-tab the user is able to see how many filings each transaction generated, how many times it was corrected via Correct the Register and also what transactions generated no filings at all.

When viewing the list of all filings users with appropriate permissions are able to:

  • select any two filings for comparison, any differences between the entity data in the two snapshots will be highlighted.
  • select any completed filing to trigger correct transaction function (see correct the register)
