The VFS contains all the XML files are consumed by the Verne Core engine and provide the instructions to the core engine which are used to deliver our world-class registries. The job of a configurator is to create and edit these instructions in XML to deliver to the registry requirements, typically captured by a Business Consultant.
The Resource Management view provides a view on the XML files and resources and provides a set of capabilities to manage and view these files.
When you start the stratus server, you need to inform stratus where to search for the VFS for your registry (Select project location). When you switch projects, you will need to stop Stratus/Magellan, so it now reads the new VFS.
Copy Resource
There are three different flavours of copying a resource:
Override
Rename / Move
Save Copy As
Resource Tree: It’s recommended that you hit the Refresh button after creating, copying or deleting a resource or folder, or after switching to a new Git branch. This is to ensure that Merged and Increments views are in synch with the file system.
Override
You can override a product resource (ie. form fragment or component from the verne-component module). However, it’s recommended that you copy the resource instead.
Rename or Move Resource
This allows you to rename or move a resource by copying the selected resource and place it in another module/application and delete the original resource (if it’s not read only), and you can opt to specify a different Path and Name within that module/application.
