You might get in a situation where you need to run a later version of the Verne – Catalyst Cloud server. This tends to happen when product support is required for configuration that you want to include in your project, so the configuration won’t work properly (or may even log or throw errors or warnings) unless you run a version of Verne that includes the configuration support. This page outlines the steps to update the version of Verne – Catalyst Cloud, that you are running locally.

Magellan can run any version of the Verne server by simply placing it anywhere in your project’s directory (e.g., you can create a ‘libs‘ folder at the project top level directory to store any 3rd party libraries, as well as any other dependencies, and place it there). Magellan will also read any project specific docker-compose.yml files in the same manner.

Steps for all Operating Systems

  1. Ensure there are no Magellan / Verne server instances running.
  2. Download the appropriate stratus-server.jar version.
  3. Place the stratus-server.jar file anywhere under the project top level directory.
  4. Start Magellan / Verne Server and choose the project you placed the alternative stratus-server.jar into.

If the URL is not accessible from your machine/location please request information to your manager/trainer. The versions of Stratus that are available can be found as February 2021 and replacing the date with format yyyy-mm-dd with the today’s date.
https://docker.io.fostermoore.com/artifactory/list/catalyst-client-mvn/com/fostermoore/stratus-server/20210202/stratus-server-20210202.jar Always ignore the versions with a “-SNAPSHOT” suffix. Look for the version – perhaps the latest, perhaps not – that you’re after. The version number relates to the day it was released using the yyyyMMdd format, which should make it easier to determine which version you want to use, if not the latest. Click the link of the version you want which will take you to the version subfolder where you can click the JAR file link (the link ending in “.jar”) to download it. The stratus-server should download it to your selected or default download directory.
