Welcome, to the beautiful world of Configuration. This section covers all the technical concepts and pre-reading that all configurators need to complete before embarking on a fantastic journey to become a certified configurator of Verne – Catalyst Cloud.

There are several Verne-Catalyst Cloud concepts relating to configuration. It’s important to understand these concepts to appreciate and understand the configuration fully, but conversely, some of the concepts may not entirely fall into place until you’re more familiar with configuring a Verne application.

For that reason, before continuing it’s expected you at least cover the Configuration Concepts page which introduces some of the key concepts at a very high level. This will give you a brief overview without getting too lost in the details.

The Verne Core documentation is where you can gain full insight into all of the Verne concepts that relate to configuration. While not a prerequisite, please read them at your own pace or perhaps specific areas as they become of interest as you encounter related areas of configuration.

Again, given the chicken and egg scenario, don’t expect to fully absorb either the concepts or practical configuration in isolation or one pass. It’ll likely take some back and forth and few passes before the significance of certain functionality or approaches (or lack of) sinks in.

Take your time, don’t berate yourself if something isn’t 100% clear on your first take and allow yourself to continue forward in the knowledge things will fall into place more as you get comfortable with both the concepts and configuration.

Having said that, just ask stack overflow if you feel like something doesn’t make sense or you feel stuck in a particular area.

The next step in the journey is to check out the Verne Training to gain a practical understanding of configuration and concepts with a real application. Enjoy.
