Within Verne, organisations can fulfill business roles against entities, just like individuals.

Organisations are linked to existing individual user accounts within Verne. Verne allows an organisation to be linked to many individuals, and also allows an individual to be linked to multiple organisations, as well as act on their own behalf. These organisations may be agencies, professional bodies or other service companies.

Irrespective of the number of organisations an individual is linked to, they always log in to their own individual account. Their dashboard presents the perspectives from which they can interact with the system; this is a list of the organisations they are linked to, as well as their individual account. When the user selects to work from the perspective of their individual account, they have access to entities based on the authorities they have been granted personally. When they work from the perspective of an organisation, they have access to the entities over which that organisation has authority.

The following diagram illustrates an individual user who acts both in their own individual capacity (in this case as a company director) and also on behalf of an organisation as an agent. In this example the user would see two perspectives in their dashboard, one their individual view (which would give them director authority over Shortcut Plumber) and the other as Ram Accountants, giving them agent authority over Pound Cement.
